Heaton Fold Garden Centre will reopen to the public from tomorrow.

The council-run centre, on Overdale Drive off Chorley New road, has been closed to residents during the lockdown.

However, the site will now be reopened with precautions put in place to protect customers and staff.

Free on-site parking is available and two metre markers have been set up outside the centre to allow people to queue safely, along with a one-way system inside the centre.

The number of customers allowed inside will be limited and payment will only be taken by card.

Perspex screen have also been installed at tills.

The cafe and toilets will remain closed, and groups of people and those with dogs are not allowed.

Cllr Adele Warren, executive cabinet member for environmental services, said:

“We know that Heaton Fold is loved by many gardening enthusiasts.

“We are looking forward to welcoming you back but we must stress the importance of everyone abiding by social distancing guidelines.

“Measures are in place for your safety and the protection of our staff. Please work with us and shop safely.”

The centre’s opening hours are 9am-4pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm at weekends.

The garden centre’s new home delivery service will be temporarily suspended to allow the team to focus on the centre reopening to the public, Bolton Council said.

The decision to reopen the centre comes after the Government eased lockdown restrictions, allowing some businesses to reopen.
