A car veered off the carriageway and smashed into motorway barrier before flipping onto it's roof in a late night crash.

The incident happened at around 1.30am on Wednesday on the westbound of the M55.

Despite the vehicle being completely crushed at the front end, the driver suffered only minor injuries.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We attended this collision on the M55 tonight where the car had veered off the carriageway, hit the barrier and rolled on its roof.

"Thankfully the driver was OK and suffered only minor injuries."
