A VEHICLE has been seized by police after the driver crashed into a tree following a car chase.
A blue VW Golf was spotted by police in Breightmet yesterday afternoon and was pursued by the police after failing to pull over at the first time of asking.
The car was chased into Goldrill Avenue, Breightmet, where the driver decided to throw a large amount of cannabis out of the window.
However, the driver then lost control of the vehicle and swerved into a tree where the car was stopped by police.
The car has been seized, with enquiries ongoing, according to a post on Greater Manchester Police’s Traffic Twitter account.
It stated at 4:01pm yesterday afternoon: “VW Golf sighted by ME11 in Breightmet.
“Failed to stop and was pursued onto Goldrill Avenue, where the driver threw a quantity of drugs from the car.
“His luck ran out when he lost control and hit the tree," the post added.
“Car seized and enquiries ongoing.”
