A LORRY carrying timber was stopped by police in Stretford.

Officers posted on the Greater Manchester Police Traffic account this afternoon about the incident.

The vehicle was stopped due to an insecure load but police say they found other defects.

It said: "Rear tyre walls damaged with cords showing along with various other defects identified.

"Company say we are wrong and there's nothing wrong with it. Driver and company were reported and vehicle prohibited."
