Police asked motorists to avoid a road in Bromley Cross following a tree falling onto the road.
The tree fell across Chapeltown Road, near Bromley Cross Train Station, close to Turton Road, with police asking people to avoid the area.
GMP Bolton North announced the road closure on its Twitter account, urging people to wait until the road has been cleared.
Police have confirmed that the road is now open again.
