Little heroes across the community have managed to raise over £2,000 between them for Bolton Hospice, even capturing the attention of Olympic cyclist Jason Kenny.
Children have been taking part in innovative challenges from head shaving to bracelet making, supporting the hospice at a time when usual fundraisers are unable to take place.
One brother and sister raised £196 by completing 26 laps of their estate on their bikes.
William and Kaitlyn Taylor were ecstatic to discover that Jason Kenny had donated to their Just Giving page.
The Olympian wrote: “Congratulations on a great achievement and hitting your fundraising target.”
Away from the world of cycling, Tristan Mackay raised £307 after he shaved his dad Jonathan’s hair and beard. His dad said he was a little apprehensive at first but was happy with the end result.
Millie Hattersley has been making rainbow bracelets and selling them outside her home, raising £60 so far.
Many children took inspiration from the 2.6 challenge, a lockdown alternative to the London Marathon. Gymnast Gabby Walker completed 26 perfect walkovers, raising a total of £541.
Meanwhile Isaac Kinsella raised £294.75 by running 2.6 miles around his garden, inspired by his mum Sarah who was due to run in the London marathon for Bolton Hospice.
