Police have arrested a drug driver in Deane after he led them on a chase across the borough.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police's traffic division spotted the silver Vauxhall Astra in Halliwell.
The driver refused to stop, instead leading the patrol on a high speed chase, narrowly missing other cars.
Officers called in the police helicopter for help, with Halliwell residents reportedly woken by the noise at around 11.30pm.
The car was abandoned on Fern Street, where police discovered it was being driven on fake number plates.
Police caught up to the driver in a wooded area nearby, arresting him on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, and drug driving.
The man was taken to custody in Swinton.
