POLICE say they broke up large gatherings of people from around the lake at Colliers Moss on Friday.
Officers said the groups were moved off the site and they seized alcohol and laughing gas canisters.
In a statement St Helens Police said: "It was like party central on around the Lake on Colliers Moss earlier, large gatherings dispersed off the site - rubbish collected, alcohol and nitrous oxide canisters seized."
Currently, people in England can only meet one other person from another household in a public place while remaining two metres apart.
Groups of up to six people from different households will be able to meet outside in England from Monday.
