STAR of stage of screen Matthew Kelly is the latest big name to back the Octagon Theatre as it appeals for support to see it through the pandemic.
The Octagon was set to have its biggest year yet in 2020 as preparations to open a new theatre were underway.
However, with the current situation putting things on hold, the theatre found itself facing a financial shortfall of half a million pounds.
The theatre has launched its first ever crowdfunder to get it through this desperate time, as theatres across the country face a fight for survival.
The Octagon said: " Matthew has worked many times at the Octagon over the years and we are thrilled that this GivingTuesday he is supporting the Octagon Future Fund."
He says on the video: "We can all actually help the team."
The Octagon contributes £6 million to the local economy in Bolton and the amount raised by the Crowdfunder will be matched by The Oglesby Charitable Trust.
