LOCKDOWN has been a testing time.

That's why The Bolton News launched the #lockdownheroes campaign to highlight the fantastic things people have been doing whilst we have been in isolation.

Each week we have published your nominations in The Bolton News and have been blown away by the community spirit shown across Bolton.

It's not too late to nominate someone to be your #lockdownhero, simply email their details with a photograph to simone.okane@newsquest.co.uk.

Here's a roundup of your nominatins.

Brothers put lockdown time to complete badges

TWO brothers have used lockdown to complete all of their Cubs and Beavers activity badges.
Determined to come out of lockdown with positive memories, Egan, 9 and Harlan Moore, 7, have spent days and weeks over the past two months, alongside a full timetable of school work, tirelessly working on their badges, which range from DIY to animal care and first aid.
Egan completed all 37 activity badges along with some staged and challenge badges and Harlan completed all 22 activity badges plus some staged and challenge badges.
Harlan is the first ever beaver in the 19th Bolton School Beaver section to complete this challenge and Egan is the second ever cub to achieve this in the 19th Bolton School cub section.
Well done love mum - Anna Howarth

Dance teachers making children happy again

I WOULD like to nominate Emma Walsh (owner) and Grace Cherowbrier from Dance Nation Academy as lockdown heroes.
My daughters, April and Harriet especially my eldest, initially really struggled with missing their family, school, friends and all the other activities they participate in.
Being able to take part in live classes in their usual dance lesson, plus the opportunity to take up new lessons and have competitions to aim towards, helped to give them a routine and focus.
Not only this but Emma and Grace are both so amazing with the children, and have even gone to extra lengths like hosting a surprise online birthday party for my eldest daughter to help make her birthday special.
I know I can say from my two girls and I’m sure many others that they look up to Grace and Emma, the love and confidence they give to all the dancers is just wonderful to see.
I really believe for us, and I am sure many other DNA families, Grace and Emma have really made lockdown that little bit easier.
DNA Pair were nominated by Lucy Halliwell

Super son caring for his whole family

I WOULD like to nominate my son as a hero - as well as a #lockdownhero too.
I suffered a breakdown on April 10 and was admitted to the Oak Ward at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
I remained for nearly eight weeks.
My son Brad Smith aged 24 has been my rock he has saved my life, he took over the running of our family home looking after my three cats whilst holding down a full time job.
He was also shopping for his grandparents on a daily and weekly basis, dropping stuff off at the hospital for me.
Brad is a selfless young man and always puts other people before himself.
Without him his grandparents wouldn’t have been able to get supplies during lockdown.
Brad looked after them extremely well.
Now that I am out of hospital things are looking much better and I am grateful for having him around.
My son Brad is now my registered carer and I couldn’t ask for anyone better, my road to recovery is going to be long and with Brad by my side it’s not as daunting.
You are a fantastic son and we all love you very much.
Nominated by mum, Steph Jamieson.

MP supporting constituents

I HAVE been reading your lockdown heroes pages for several weeks, it has come to my attention that black, Asian and minority ethnic ( BAME) nominees are under represented.
Therefore I have made it my intention to nominate Bolton South East Labour MP Yasmin Qureshi.
As you know she is known for being the first political figure to call publicly for an inquiry into the health inequalities of BAME communities and individuals, that has led to a higher mutuality rate and higher degree of risk of illness during the Coronavirus pandemic.
She is a hero for her community.
Nominated by Gary Cubbage, Bolton

Mum is a true covid caring warrior

I WOULD like to shine a light on my fabulous mum.
Not only is she a true inspiration to me and my children but has gone above and beyond for the adult social care team in Bolton.
My mum, Mandy Woods, who is head of adult care in Bolton, has faced this awful virus head on.
With staffing levels continuously dwindling because of the coronavirus, my mum put back on her uniform and mucked in at both Laburnum Lodge and Wilfred Gere to support her staff.
She got stuck in to help where she could - from the domestic cleaner’s roles to the cook, my mum took in everything.
Mum became a walking warrior facing the uncertainty of how the deaths would effect her team and sat with service users in their final hours without complaint.
She was able to show her kindness and respect for her workers and her service users.
She is a wonderful woman and she deserves the recognition.
Even though she hasn’t been in lockdown due to her hectic work schedule she has been a real lockdown hero.
Nominated by Kayleigh Hancock.

NHS first responder makes family proud

I WOULD like to nominate my brother Lee Gower-Drinkwater, from Worsley, now living in Horwich.
His full-time job is the company manager at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.
He is also a qualified first responder for North West Ambulance Service.
Since he was on furlough from work at the beginning of lockdown he has been volunteering in his first responder role.
He began sorting and delivering PPE equipment where needed.
His main role though has been to run a welfare vehicle for paramedics based at Bolton A & E.
He provides a friendly ear when staff need to off-load as well as stocking the welfare vehicle with refreshments, provided by donations from family, friends and the public. We are very proud of what he has and continues to do. We called by yesterday to speak to him across the car park at Bolton A & E. Couldn’t be prouder.
Nominated by Tracey Parker.

Care home workers are lockdown stars

I WANT to nominate Christine Fitton.
There are so many colleagues working at Bolton at Home who are working hard and putting themselves at risk to help others (delivering food parcels, supporting older vulnerable customers in their own homes). But I have received so many positive comments and messages about Christine that I had to nominate her.
Day-to-day, Christine works as a UCAN project officer helping customers that need help with debt, mental health, substance misuse, homelessness, employment or any other support enquiry.
During the lockdown, she has been home working and we have been keeping in touch with and supporting customers in more creative ways that we are used to in our UCAN drop-in centres.
Nominated by Christopher Massey.

Still helping out the hundreds

A MASSIVE thanks to Nicole Allen who works for Morrisons.
Nicole has been delivering food parcels to the elderly during lockdown.
She has been a great help to people in the area and we are all proud of her.
Nicole turns up with her food and socially distances from everyone but manages to bring a smile to people’s faces.
As Bolton Dawes community champion, Nicole has been making up care packages for elderly and vulnerable all across Bolton, she has been delivering them and chatting making sure we’re all okay.
Nominated by Julie Curley from Horwich.
