An interactive map has been created that shows just how many people in Bolton and beyond have lost their lives to coronavirus in their neighbourhoods.

Created by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the map breaks England and Wales down into more than 7,000 neighbourhoods of about 5,000 to 7,000 residents.

Farnworth has been the area worst hit by the pandemic so far, with the 31 virus-related deaths since March.

Five out of every six of these areas had seen someone die who tested positive for Covid-19 by April 17, the figures show.

Look up your own area by searching for your postcode.

Poorer areas have been particularly badly hit by the pandemic, the ONS data shows.

People living in the most deprived areas of England are more than twice as likely to die of Covid-19 as those living in the least deprived areas.

The map reveals that Greater Manchester is one of the worst-hit areas outside of London.
