TWO casualties were taken to hospital after a serious road accident.
Firefighters from Burnley were called to attend a road traffic accident on Todmorden Road in Briercliffe at around 10.20pm on Monday night.
Upon arrival, it became apparent that cutting equipment would need to be used to cut the passengers from inside of the car free.
Paramedics were also in attendance and rushed two casualties to hospital.
A fire service spokesman said: "Two fire engines from Burnley attended a road traffic collision on Todmorden Road in Briercliffe, Nelson.
"Firefighters used cutting equipment to extricate two casualties who were taken to hospital by ambulance."
