SHAUN Ryder's Black Grape have rescheduled their forthcoming tour due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The band, who Little Hulton-born Ryder formed after the Happy Mondays split in 1992, have rearranged all seven dates originally scheduled for October 2020, with the tour now taking place in March 2021 with a Newcastle show added to the run.

This tour will see the band celebrate the 25th anniversary of Black Grape’s debut album It’s Great When You’re Straight…. Yeah. Originally released on August 7, 1995, it not only went to number one in the UK charts but went on to go platinum. A three CD deluxe edition was released in November 2016.

The album produced two top ten hit singles, Reverend Black Grape and In the Name of the Father, with a third single, Kelly’s Heroes also reaching the top 20.

The tour kicks off in Holmfirth on March 5, 2021 with founder members Ryder and Kermit Leveridge on vocals.

Ryder said: "I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the road with Black Grape and playing all the favourites from It’s Great When You’re Straight…Yeah’ with some Pop Voodoo!"
