NO one has died at the Royal Bolton Hospital with coronavirus for three weeks.

Data released this afternoon from NHS England shows that 221 people have died with the illness at the hospital, with the last person succumbing to Covid-19 21 days ago on June 10.

Deaths nationally are also continuing to fall. In English hospitals two people are recorded as dying with the virus yesterday, one of whom was from the North West.

In the last five days 18 people are recorded as having died from the illness in hospitals in the region, although the actual figure is likely to be higher because of delays in reporting deaths.

The figures also do not include people who may have died from coronavirus in the community or care homes.

Latest statistics released today from the Office for National Statistics show that, up until June 19, 104 people died in Bolton care homes after contracting coronavirus, a further 10 people have died at home and nine hospice patients have succumbed.

Government data also reveals that, in the UK, 312,654 people have tested positive for coronavirus, including 1,061 people in Bolton.

Nationally 43,730 people have died.
