A JUDGE has called for an inquiry to take place over how a Taser ended up in a Bury man's wardrobe.
Police discovered the stun gun in the bedroom of Jake Paul Harris, 22, during routine enquiries, Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
Prosecutor David Lees said Harris, of Argyll Street, had admitted to police he had bought the Taser, which had been manufactured in the United States, online. His fingerprints were found on the device.
The discovery was made during a search of his home on unrelated matters, which did not lead to criminal charges, the court heard.
Defence counsel Michael Lea said his client would insist someone had brought the stun gun to his home during a party and left it there.
Judge Sophie McKone said the issue of how Harris came by the device would have a bearing on sentence.
Harris. who has pleaded guilty to possessing the weapon was bailed to face a trial on July 14.
