Members of Bolton All Starz dance troupe have not let lockdown get in the way of having fun.

In fact, the dancers have been taking part in competitions, videos and even a world record attempt.

The group is run by Alison Power and usually runs sessions in Brownlow Fold community centre in Halliwell, however she's been organising virtual dance classes throughout lockdown.

All Starz have also been ensuring their 80 members, aged four to 16, have been doing their home schooling too.

Alison said: "We've kept our online classes at the same time each week so we knew all the dancers could attend.

"Over the weeks we've organised various competitions for them to take part in, from photo challenges to dance contests, and the winners received a box of sweets.

"They took part in a world record attempt alongside dance schools from across the country.

"Our dancers had to learn a jazz routine in 24 hours and submit a video of themselves.

"Unfortunately the 2,000 people target wasn't met but it still helped raise £3,518 for NHS charities.

"Obviously a lot of our events have been cancelled, but everyone's safety is the most important thing.

"We're really proud of them all and they've all done extremely well during this time.

"They're all going to receive a lockdown medal to celebrate their hard work."
