An actress, who has starred in several David Walliams' productions including the West End run of Gangsta Granny, will be running a week long drama school for kids this August.

Emma Matthews, from Little Lever, founded Theatre Works drama school along with fellow industry professional and childhood best friend Lauren Denton six years ago.

The drama school have announced they will organise a 'World of Walliams' work shop in Little Lever from Monday August 10 to Friday 14.

Emma will put her insider knowledge to use and teach children scenes, songs and dances from the stage versions of Billionaire Boy, Gangsta Granny and Boy in a Dress.

Emma said: "We've had so many people getting in touch asking for something over the summer months.

"I know the shows inside and out and kids just go crazy for David Walliams' shows, they're always asking for me to talk about them.

"David is an absolute joy, he will do anything for kids, I've seen him sit for always signing books and making sure every child gets a signed copy.

"I can pass on my experience of West End productions to the children and share my stories.

"Weather depending we will hopefully do activities outside. There will be acting, singing and dancing; but there will also be arts and crafts to make props and set design.

"Anyone is welcome to join and we accept all abilities, I know some kids are nervous about returning to school in September and this will be a great way for them to build up their confidence.

"It will be socially distanced and safety is a priority so spaces will be limited.

"Parents can be rest assured that their kids can be kept busy for a week too."
