A MAN has been charged with theft after a 61-year-old woman had her handbag stolen. 

On Friday, April 3, the Breightmet Neighbourhood Team received reports that a woman had her handbag snatched from her hand on Deepdale Road in Breightmet.

The victim's bank cards were then used in shops around the Breightmet area.

Kyle Crossman of Blenheim Road, Breightmet has now been charged with theft from a person and five counts of fraud.

Others were also arrested for their involvement but later released.

A15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has since been issued with a youth caution for fraud.

A 16-year-old boy, who also cannot be named for legal reasons, has since been referred to the Youth Offending Team for theft from a person and fraud.

Crossman is due to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 11.
