How long have you been the landlord for? Seven years.

Give us some history about the pub: The Strawbury Duck is one of Bolton’s landmark pubs and has always been known for quality food, great cask ale and fantastic hospitality.

The Strawbury Duck is situated in between Wayoh and Entwistle Reservoir which makes it the perfect spot after a leisurely walk around the reservoir to stop for excellent food and attentive friendly service giving you the homely dining experience.

What’s on the menu? We are a traditional country pub serving a variety of traditional pub grub.

Is there a beer garden? Yes we have four outside seating areas. The Strawbury Duck is also dog friendly so we have lots of walkers pop in.

Most popular drink served is: We have many award-winning cask ales and they are extremely popular.

Most memorable moment at the pub: Christmas day.

Have you faced any challenges within the industry?

Not really. Only the closure due to the pandemic.

The best thing about running a pub is... Meeting new customers on a daily basis and providing an excellent customer experience.

The worst thing about running a pub is... Moaning people.

The perfect hangover cure is... A pint of Guinness.

Opening hours: 12 noon til 11pm, seven days a week.
