A MAN has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Great Lever.

Police were called to Rishton Avenue at around 5.40pm on Friday evening.

North West Ambulance Service had attended the street, finding a 38-year-old who had been stabbed.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.

It is not yet clear exactly where the attack took place.

Officers continue to investigate the incident, and have urged anyone with information to contact the police.
