THERE have been no new coronavirus-related deaths at the Royal Bolton Hospital for ten days.

Latest figures published by NHS England this afternoon showed no patients at the borough's hospital had died after contracting covid-19 since July 9.

The Office for National Statistics believes over 56,000 people have now died after testing positive for covid-19, with 226 of these deaths taking place in the borough's hospital.

Overall, 1,885 cases of coronavirus have now been confirmed in Bolton, with over 294,000 people testing positive across the country.

Latest figures show that five patients were admitted to hospitals in the North West with coronavirus on Saturday, bringing the total number of people with the virus being treated in the region to 234.

Just 18 patients remain on ventilation.
