An Audi which was stolen from Westhoughton last year was seized by police in Crompton this morning.
The car was taken away on Hibbert Street as it was found to have false number plates. Officers then discovered that the convertible was actually a vehicle which had been stolen from Westhoughton in December 2019.
Crime Scene Investigation officers will now examine the vehicle.
In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers from the Tonge Moor Neighbourhood Team have seized this vehicle this morning on Hibbert Street, Crompton.
"It was found to be on false plates and had in fact been stolen from Westhoughton in December 2019.
"The vehicle will now be examined by our CSI officers."
