Temperatures are set to soar in Bolton tomorrow to a toasty 29C, even hotter than predicted earlier in the week.

According to the Met Office, it will be sunny all day long with temperatures quickly rising throughout the day, and reaching a peak of 29C by 2pm.

Although staycations are on the cards for many this year, it's good to know that Bolton will be hotter than Istanbul tomorrow, so at least we'll get a flavour of holiday weather.

Figures shouldn't drop to below 20C until 10pm so those who are working can still enjoy the warmth - perfect for an evening barbecue.

Forecasting for the North West, the Met Office said: "A predominantly sunny day on Friday with temperatures becoming hot.

"Some cloud may bubble up through the afternoon, but it should stay dry. Maximum temperature 31C."

However the mini-heatwave will likely be a flash in the pan with Saturday only seeing a high of 18C.

The Met Office said: "Staying largely dry Saturday and Sunday with bright or sunny spells, though some showers at times.

"Turning unsettled overnight into Monday as wet and windy weather arrives. Feeling much cooler."

Looks like we have to make the most of the sunshine while we can.
