SWINDON has the 10th-highest coronavirus case rate in the country, new figures reveal.

The figures for each local authority in England have been revealed with the release of the rolling seven-day rate of new cases of Covid-19.

The figures for the seven days to July 27 are based on tests carried out in laboratories, which is one pillar of the government’s testing programme, and in the wider community, which is the other pillar.

Swindon's rate of 24.3 case rates per 100,000 in the last week puts it 10th, just below Manchester's rate of 24.5

The top 10 is below:

Blackburn with Darwen 85.3

Leicester 57.7

Oldham 53.1

Bradford 44.9

Trafford 39.3

Calderdale 32.4

Rochdale 30.9

Sandwell 27.5

Manchester 24.5

Swindon 24.3
