The Mechanics’ Institution Trust is running a creative summer youth project at the Swindon Summer Bowl.

The trust is offering spaces to 48 young people aged 12-17 who will be split into two age groups for morning or afternoon sessions every weekday of either next week (August 10 to 14) or the week after (August 17 to 21).

Each space would normally cost £135 each, but they will be free thanks to funding from Nationwide Building Society and the High Sheriff Award via Wiltshire Community Foundation.

Project coordinator Hannah Parry said: “There will be a range of activities to enjoy including, music, podcasting, film-making, arts and crafts, circus skills, games and sports - all run by professional arts and youth workers.

"It's a great opportunity for young people to get active, be inspired, use their imaginations, be creative and let off some steam after long period of lockdown.”
