A POPULAR bar in the town centre is set to get a new rooftop terrace.

Hideout, on Sankey Street, has applied for planning permission from Warrington Borough Council for the scheme.

The development will see a ‘modern’ lean-to roof at the rear of the premises removed in order to construct an outdoor terrace on the first floor above the existing beer garden, offering views of the Town Hall.

Application documents say the proposal will ‘assist in securing the future of the grade two-listed building along with its sustainability’.

A consultation on the plans runs until Friday, September 4.
