A MAN left fighting for his life after a serious assault has died.
The 46-year-old died just days after the attack on July 13.
Police were sent to Winchester Way in Breightmet at around 10.20pm and a man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Greater Manchester Police said he died on July 21.
Residents reported a large number of police cars rushing to the scene on the night.
The victim has not been named by police.
Police confirmed that charges have been brought following the incident.
Christopher Walton, 23, of Mobberley Road, Breightmet, was charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody to appear in court.
