Police have to deal with a lot of dodgy drivers on the motorways, but in the early hours of this morning officers had to remove someone on two wheels instead of four from the network.

They were called to reports of a teenager riding a pushbike along a stretch of hard shoulder this morning at around 4am.

It was later discovered that the 15-year-old was a foreign national who didn't know that bikes couldn't be used on the motorway.

The ignorant cyclist was making their way down the M57 Southbound from J3 to J2.

Shortly after 4am this morning, North West Motorway Police said on Facebook: "Report of a 15-year-old on a pushbike on the hard shoulder M57 J3 to J2 Southbound.

"Matrix set and our Merseyside Sargeant is making their way to the area."

Half an hour later the 15-year-old was taken off the motorway by police.

North West Motorway Police said: "The 15-year-old on their push bike on the M57 J3 to J2 Southbound has been located.

"It was a foreign national that wasn't aware you couldn't use a push bike on the motorway.

"Taken off the Network by our Sargeant."
