AN MP has backed a clear face mask drive - to help out the deaf community.
Kate Green, who represents Stretford and Urmston, has supported a campaign by the National Deaf Children's Society for transparent face coverings.
Deaf and hard-of-hearing people often rely on lip-reading and facial expressions in communicating - which can be thwarted by traditional masks.
Ms Green said: "“Face masks are compulsory in shops and on public transport to help keep everyone safe.
"Wearing a mask with a clear panel can really help communication with deaf children and adults."
