Police discovered a large hoard of cannabis at a residence on Chorley Old Road in Doffcocker today.
Officers believe the drugs were going to be sold on streets as packaging was also found at the address.
The occupant wasn't in at the time and police are trying track them down.
In a statement shared on Facebook Greater Manchester Police said: "Following on from earlier arrest attempts; officers from Bolton West Neighbourhood team conducted an (unconnected) drugs warrant at Chorley Old Road in Doffcocker.
"The occupant wasn't home to let us in but that didn't stop us entering.
"Once inside we found a large quantity of cannabis and what we believe was a set up for packaging drugs for street deals.
"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupant of the address.
"We could not take action like this without the information you the public provide, thank you."
