HOLLY Bristow achieved triple distinction star in her health and social care studies.

Although her course did not mean sitting final exams, she has to complete coursework at home, during lockdown.

She said: "I am very pleased with my results and I now want to go into full time caring such as a care assistant in a hospital.

"My grade was based on coursework and we had to do that at home which was weird but it was important that those measures were in place."

She was one of a number of success stories being celebrated at The Sixth Form College Bolton.

The college, which has rebranded from Bolton Sixth For College, is undergoing a multi-million pound extension as demand for places at the town centre campus grows. The college is the only specialist sixth form college in Bolton.
