PLACES at some of the world’s best universities await bright young things at Bolton School boys’ division.

Krishnan Ajit is off to Cambridge University to study medicine as is Yusuf Adia.

Ruairi McCabe is is of to the University of Manchester to study medical sciences and engineering.

Ruairi said: “I had applied before the pandemic and still want to live in the university accommodation but it is quite good to be closer to home now.

“It has been a strange year not known what was around the corner and uncertainty ­— and that it was out of your control.”

Yusuf says it was the confidence his teachers helped instil in him to apply for a place at Cambridge University.

“I was back and forth about applying to Cambridge but teachers gave me confidence in applying.”

He added:”The school helped keep the school’s community spirit going through lockdown through online assemblies and online learning, and that did help.”

Alex Gao is also off to Cambridge after gaining a staggering five A*.

He will be studying engineering at the world class establishment.
