TWINS Ollie and Joe De-Blainsin say they feel as if they were cheated under this year’s grading process.

The two say they were predicted three A* and will be appealing.

Oli achieved three As and Joe A* AA.

Ollie said: “We have got the grades to go to Durham University so we do have that, but we will be appealing because I do feel w have been cheated under the system.

“We were predicted 3A*

“We were all preparing to sit the exams and then that came to and end abruptly.”

Nationally, the The Government is under increasing pressure to review its moderation and appeals system after thousands of pupils’ A-level results in England were downgraded amid cancelled exams due to Covid-19.

Nearly two in five of teachers’ estimates for pupils in England were adjusted down by one grade or more, according to data from Ofqual, which amounts to around 280,000 entries.

Overall, in England a total of 35.6 per cent of grades were adjusted down by one grade, 3.3 per cent were brought down by two grades and 0.2 per cent came down by three grades, figures show.

Ministers are now facing calls to urgently review its moderation process in England and to make sure that schools and colleges do not face financial barriers when lodging appeals for students.

Labour has called for all fees for A-level appeals to be waived.
