ARMED police were called out to Farnworth town centre today following a hoax call.
Officers were deployed to Market Street at around 10.15am this morning, police confirmed.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the armed police near to the NatWest bank at the junction with Church Street.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers attended and, following extensive enquiries, established that no criminal offences had been committed."
