TWO prisoners are back behind bars after committing offences at a Bolton spa hotel.

One man, who had been staying at The Last Drop Hotel after release from prison, stole a coat and car keys from a member of staff.

At Wigan Magistrates’ Court 32-year-old John Sokolowski was jailed for three months after pleading guilty to burglary.

The Bolton News:

Sokolowski, of no fixed address, was already on licence from prison when he sneaked into a staff office at the hotel  on August 24 and took the jacket, worth £150. After the coat was reported stolen Bolton North neighbourhood officers recalled that they had seen Sokolowski on Darwen Road the previous day when he was wearing the coat.

He was traced and arrested. Sentencing Sokolowski magistrates told him: “You have an absolutely appalling list of previous convictions for dishonesty.

“This offence was committed whilst on licence and cost the hotel manager a considerable sum of money to replace keys that were not recovered from the jacket that you stole.”

The day after the theft another man, who was also at the hotel and on licence from prison, damaged a bedroom and threatened the hotel manager.

Wigan magistrates heard how, on August 25, Alexander Hall, aged 31, of no fixed address, damaged a door, wardrobe and a phone worth a total of £750 and also used threatening behaviour.

Hall pleaded guilty to committing the offences on August 25 and was jailed for four weeks.
