A DRINK and drug driver who repeatedly flouted a driving ban caused a pile up on the motorway.
Manchester magistrates heard how Henery Samin, aged 24, of Masefield Drive, Farnworth, was driving an Audi A3 on the M60 at Bury on August 25 when he crashed. Samin had no insurance and was was already banned from the roads.
Only four days earlier he had used cocaine and been caught drug driving in a Vauxhall Astra on Garside Street, Bolton, and on May 5 he was almost two times over the drink driving limit when he was stopped on Kensington Street, Bolton, behind the wheel of an Audi. He had no insurance on that occasion either.
Samin pleaded guilty to driving while banned, careless driving, having no insurance, drug driving and drink driving.
Magistrates handed him a suspended prison sentence
He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and must participate in 60 hours of unpaid work.
In addition he must attend a drivers’ impaired by drink programme for 17 days and was banned from applying for a driving licence for three years.
