A TRIP to the Lake District resulted in a driving ban for a Bolton man.
Luke Thomas Hibbert, 32, from Lostock, Bolton, was caught driving an Audi S3 after drinking more than double the legal alcohol limit.
Hibbert has now appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to drink driving.
He had previously denied the charge but changed his plea to guilty.
The court heard that on July 26, Hibbert was in Bowness on Windermere driving the car on St Martin's Place.
He was stopped by police and when he gave a road side breath test, he gave a reading which registered more than double legal drink drive limit.
The reading was 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
He was banned from driving for a total of 40 months. Magistrates also fined him £500 and he was ordered to pay a £50 victim surcharge.
