A year group bubble at a primary school have been asked to isolate for 14 days after a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.
Year three pupils at St Thomas of Canterbury RC Primary School, Heaton, and staff in the same bubble have been asked to stay at home and self-isolate after a pupil tested positive for coronavirus.
The classroom will also undergo a deep clean, according to the Diocese of Salford, who run the school.
A spokesman at the Diocese of Salford, said: "We can confirm that one pupil has tested positive for Covid-19 at St Thomas of Canterbury RC Primary School and as a result of this, agreed protocols were quickly implemented to ensure the safety of the school community.
"In accordance with public health guidelines all members of the bubble affected, including staff, have been informed and are now isolating for the required 14-day period.
"The classroom will undergo a deep cleaning process.
"We understand the concern this will cause to families but we are working hard to maintain the safety of all in our school community."
