Having read Anthony Hutchinson’s letter ‘Questions Matt Hancock must answer about Bolton lockdown', I absolutely agree with him. The letter is right to the point and we need answers to all of the questions he raises.

If there are no answers to these points, then why not? If these points are ignored, the people of Bolton will lose all confidence and trust in the Bolton Council and indeed the Government. All we seem to be getting is a ‘fear factor’ rather than clarification.

Pubs, cafes and restaurants have only just opened and the vast majority of these have complied with all the Covi-19 secure rules at great expense to the owners themselves.

Closing everything again for a small minority of these establishments who have been lax seems a lot like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. The younger age groups think they are invincible and if tested positive, with mild symptoms, will wonder what all the fuss is about. Hence the various questions need to be answered.

There are many of the older generation very frightened by all these figures, which is resulting in increases of depression and loneliness.

It’s puzzling as to how Sweden has not had any lockdown and still has a far better performance than here in the UK. No wonder we are confused.
