A MAN has suffered serious injuries after a crash in Westhoughton this afternoon, Wednesday.
Emergency services including an air ambulance helicopter were sent to Washacre at around 2.20pm following a collision.
A man in his 40s sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police have been in attendance and it has not been confirmed how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 2.19pm to reports of a road traffic collision.
"We sent three rapid response vehicles, a road ambulance and an air ambulance.
"We took one male in his 40s to hospital with serious injuries by road ambulance."
