A community train station has been given a fresh new look.
Friends of Westhoughton Station have spent the last eight years working on the site, adding new plants and fixtures as well as a lick of paint.
Chair of Friends of Westhoughton Station, Stephen Freeborn said: “The Friends of Westhoughton Station are delighted to see the white wooden fence and some of the blue seats have been painted on the station. It has been a long process to get Northern railway to put resource into the work but at last it has been done.
“We the Friends, work every Sunday morning to try to improve the station environment and welcome any new members."
