Re complaints over the Kearsley roundabout and the fuss being made regarding traffic.
Most people won’t know that roundabouts are designed to keep traffic flowing, and believe me it does its job.
Living on Bolton Road for well over 40 years I feel I am a good judge of that, considering there are busy traffic lights at the Longcauseway junction, and lights at the busy Stoneclough/Bolton Road junction, plus a filling station and busy Spar shop, all within less than half a mile.
Common sense says it would be a total disaster to introduce lights.
Traffic lights would endlessly back up on St Peter’s Way both North and South, and even back to Junction 4 on the M61.
The cost of doing this would be phenomenal and the delays and time wasted a joke. The system at the moment is acceptable, busy at peak times, but in general quite good.
My comment as a person who lives here is leave well alone.
