The landlord of the Waggon and Horses in Westhoughton has my heartfelt sympathy.
I have watched this man work his socks off to get this public house back on its feet. He has overcome all obstacles and just as he was winning, the government closes him down yet again.
It is soul destroying to watch another public house, one just a mile away, thriving while he cannot open his doors.
But I am sure he doesn’t have any bad feelings towards the landlord of the fortunate pub that is doing well. It’s all down to geography.
The Waggon and Horses is an historic pub with a lot of history behind it and to see it go would be a big loss to Westhoughton.
As a last thought; Westhoughton has gone months being virus free and even now we have only got the odd case.
So why must our town suffer for the actions of others?
