A CRASH involving four vehicles took place in Bolton yesterday evening, Monday.

Police were sent to St Helens Road at the junction with Morris Green Lane shortly before 5.30pm following the collision.

The ambulance service said they were due to go to the scene but then they were told not to attend after a patient made their own way to hospital.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Police were called shortly before 5.30pm on Monday to reports of a collision involving four vehicles on St Helens Road in Bolton.

"Officers attended and no major injuries were reported.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on St Helens Road South, at the junction with Morris Green Lane, at 5.36pm.

“One fire engine from Bolton quickly attended the scene.

“The collision involved four vehicles and one vehicle was leaking fluid.

"Fire crews helped to make the scene safe.

“Firefighters were at the scene for around 30 minutes.”
