A CHILDREN’S forest school and party venue has been wrecked by vandals only a couple of weeks after it was last targeted.

Yobs broke into Hedgehogs Woodland Adventure in Horwich several times in a few days earlier this month.

They broke the front gate and fences, brought down a 30ft parachute cover and left drug snapbags on the ground near children’s equipment. On one occasion a group of youths were smoking what appeared to be cannabis.

Around £1,000 worth of damage was caused to the business, which holds parties for youngsters and hosts school and nursery visits, in that spate of incidents.

And now thousands more has been caused after the parachute, which was put back in place after the last attack, was set on fire.

Vandals also ripped down fences, hammocks and swings and destroyed tools and equipment.

They also squirted paint inside the shed and attempted to set it on fire.

Owner Emma Lynch, who runs the site with her partner Oliver, has been left devastated by the damage, which is believed to have happened on Sunday morning.

She says after being forced to close due to the coronavirus rules and having to cope with the repeated vandalism, the firm is struggling to survive.

Emma said: “They have absolutely destroyed the place. It is the same kind of damage as last time but just on a much bigger scale.

“They must have done it during the day as there are no lights there and it’s not possible to see in front of you at night.

“It all adds up to a lot of money and as we are closed we have not got money coming in. We are at the point now where we are going to leave the damage rather than repairing it again as it is just completely soul-destroying.”

Emma said signs of drugs were found at the site again.

A GoFundMe crowdfunding page has been set up by the business in an effort to raise funds to install CCTV cameras and build a more secure fence at the site.

The fundraising page, organised by Emma, states: “Over recent weeks we have been broken into on numerous occasions and our site has been ravaged by vandals.

“We desperately need a security fence and CCTV to help keep these terrible vandals out.

“Without these security measures we simply cannot continue to run our wonderful business.”
