POLICE are urging residents to be extra vigilant after reports of a group of men acting suspiciously in an area of Radcliffe.

Neighbourhood officers said they had been contacted about four "suspicious males" driving a blue Ford who were knocking on the homes of elderly residents in the Grindsbrook Road area.

A spokesman for GMP Radcliffe said the males spoke with Irish accents and were wearing hi-vis jackets and grey shorts.

"They were peering into garages and cars of residents," said the spokesman.

The warning was issued just half-an-hour ago on the police's social media channels.
