Bosses at restaurants and bars in Bolton have responded with joy to the announcement that their businesses can open again this Saturday.

Health secretary Matt Hancock announced this morning that Bolton's restrictions would be brought in line with the rest of Greater Manchester, meaning that bars and restaurants can reopen, with restrictions including table service only and a 10pm curfew.

Excited business owners have taken to social media to share their glee at being able to welcome back customers after weeks of hardship.

Ciao Baby Italian in Blackburn Road, Egerton, told its customers "We thank you all for your continued support in these uncertain times. Look forward to serving you all again soon."

After posting early this morning about its sadness at not being able to be open, The Kitchen on Market Street, Westhoughton's mood changed dramatically after it was announced they could open this Saturday.

They posted: "Well our mood has lifted...mannnnn we are so ready!"

Northern Monkey bar in Nelson Square commented that this was "good news finally" and that the news showed "common sense at a time where common sense is in short supply!"

Amico Cafe on Corporation Street said: "We are so happy that finally we are allowed to work as all hospitality venues across the UK.

"Thank you so much for all your messages, phone calls, post cards, it really means a lot for us! Looking forward to welcoming you again soon."

They also confirmed that they will be undergoing a deep clean before opening this coming Saturday.

UPDATE: We rushed a little bit with the announcement! We are actually allowed to re-open from Saturday as Bolton Council...

The Lancashire Mead Company in Horwich said it was "about time" reacting to this morning's announcement.

They also wished their hospitlaity counterparts the best of luck as they all prepare to open this weekend.

Horwich Tap and Cork in Lee Lane, Horwich, was one of many to jump the gun and announce that it would be opening tomorrow before the announcement saying they could open on Saturday.

They said: "Might have got a bit too excited we can’t open until Saturday. It’s so lovely that I have friends & customers who are also keeping me updated & have the bars best interest at heart thank you to you all."

They also then wished their "fellow bar owners" the best of luck with reopening on Saturday as they have all "gone through a tough time".
