TWO more patients have now died at the Royal Bolton Hospital after contracting coronavirus.

The latest coronavirus-related deaths were announced by the NHS yesterday afternoon.

Both deaths occurred on Tuesday, and bring the total number of coronavirus-related deaths at the borough's hospital to 250.

Of the 124 new cases confirmed yesterday afternoon, 103 were seen in people tested on Monday.

Two new cases were confirmed from tests taken on Tuesday, whilst nine people tested on Sunday received a positive result.

Confirmation of cases in six people tested on Saturday, three people tested on Friday, and one person tested last Thursday was also included in yesterday's case total.

So far, 5,736 people across Bolton have tested positive for covid-19 since the start of March.

Across the North West, 141 patients were admitted to hospital yesterday, bringing the total number of people being treated in the region for coronavirus to 1,030.

There are currently 115 patients who require ventilation in hospitals across the area.
