A round-up of people who have been sentenced by magistrates recently

A TEENAGER caught driving without a licence and failing to stop for police has been fined £300. Lewis Hayes, aged 18, of Kenyon Way, Little Hulton, admitted committing the offences when he was spotted driving a VW Bora on Salford Road, Bolton, on June 17. Hayes also admitted careless driving and having no insurance. He was banned from applying for a driving licence for 12 months.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £160 after he damaged a window in Daffodil Road, Farnworth on May 20 and obstructed a police officer on April 26. Dean Thompson, aged 24, of Edith Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences and was also ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

A DRUG driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months after he was found to have been using cocaine. Damien Stevens, aged 30, of Springfield Road, Kearsley, pleaded guilty to committing the offence, driving a Vauxhall Astra on Drayton Close on January 2. He was also fined £120.

NATHANIEL Duberry, aged 27, of Haydock Street, Bolton, has been ordered to do 40 hours of unpaid work after he admitted using threatening behaviour on June 6.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £250 after he was caught with amphetamine in Bolton on August 21. Adis Hukic, aged 41, of Bourne Bank South, Bolton, admitted committing the offences.

A MAN who used threatening behaviour towards a woman on September 10 has been fined £345. Sajid Khan, aged 25, of Southfield Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim or going to an address in Crescent Road, Bolton.

A MAN caught carrying a kitchen knife outside Moses Gate Country Park on July 4 has been electronically tagged. Harun Arshad, aged 31, of Sandhill Close, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for12 months and is subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for eight weeks.

MAGISTRATES have ordered Nicholas Fisher, aged 41, of Oakes Street, Bolton to have treatment for alcohol addiction after he admitted harassing a woman. A restraining order was also made banning him from contacting his victim.

A DRINK driver who failed to stop for police has been banned from the roads for 16 months. Paul Barnett, aged 24, of Rawson Street, Farnworth, was over the alcohol limit when he was caught driving a BMW on Bradley Fold Road, Radcliffe, on July 18. The court heard that he also had no driving licence or insurance. Barnett pleaded guilty and was also fined £525.

A MOTORCYCLIST who fled the scene after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision on November 23, has been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work by magistrates. Adam Gawlowski, aged 22, of Carrfield Avenue, Little Hulton, pleaded guilty to failing to stop and report an accident, careless driving and having no licence or insurance.He was also fined £330 and banned from applying for a driving licence for 12 months.

A MAN claimed he was only looking after a stolen £40,000 Range Rover for someone else. Asrear Zulifqar was found in the driver’s seat on Back Lever Edge Lane, Bolton on March 18. Zulifqar, aged 39, of Calvert Road, Bolton, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and ordered to undertake 80 hours of unpaid work.
