BOLTON will NOT be put under additional measures forcing pubs, restaurants, and gyms to close, according to an MP.
Jim McMahon, the elected official for Oldham, confirmed that Greater Manchester will be placed in Tier 2 of the government's newest coronavirus restrictions.
According to Mr McMahon, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed that new restrictions across Greater Manchester will ban residents from meeting other households in any indoor setting, although outdoor meetings will still be allowed.
The Bolton News understands that hospitality venues, such as restaurants, will be allowed to remain open – although clearer guidance will be revealed when Boris Johnson addresses the House of Commons this afternoon.
Mr McMahon confirmed that "pubs serving food" could remain open, leading many to question whether drinking establishments that do not offer food would be told to close.
